Sometimes you just have to see a product in person to do it justice. I recently purchased a Laptop Briefcase from M&W Traveler, and this is an example of that scenario. I’ve seen some pictures – both on their website and on some style forums – and the case definitely looks nice, but in person it’s really nice. Rugged, refined, and really well built. It’s big, almost too big for me, but only because I tend to fill up carry-on bags without fail.
The best feature are the quick release snaps that allow you to open the bag without unbuckling the lid. The case is made from horsehide which is lightweight, tough, and abrasion resistant. This is definitely a product that will only look better with wear, and if anyone has photos of a case that’s broken in, I’d love to have you post them here.
Someday, I’d like to see a version in deep burgundy or navy with black stitching and nickel hardware – everyone thinks they’re a designer these days…

That looks fantastic.
Wow. Really nice.
Nick, thanks for pointing me towards mw-traveler. The thread you linked to on StyleForum is mine. I am very, very happy with this bag. My suitcase hunt is finally over, after many years.
My pleasure. Thanks for taking the time to review and post on the bag!
Thanks for the photos. You should note that the bag is made from your own leather, as I understand it, so you have a pretty direct interest in its success. Which is not to say that it’s not a nice bag, and made from nice materials.
All the (leather) items posted here utilize Horween Leather in some capacity, at least those posted so far.
This case really caught my eye. You’re right, it does look very sturdy, which is exactly what I need. When I’m in a hurry, I’m hard on my equipment.
I’m curious as to what size laptops the sleeve and case will accept. Laptops are getting bigger and bigger these days.
A deep burgandy might look great on this case, but to tell you the truth, I think the factory finish fits its personality to a tee! We also have several nice leather cases, but I’m interested in adding this one to our line. Many thanks…
From just eyeballing, the case can hold a 17″ laptop inside a foam or neoprene sleeve. I’m sure the guys over at MW Traveler would be happy to hear from you with any specific questions.
This bag made from Horween Leather?
They have now sadly gone out of business. Are there any other places to get a good Horween leather briefcase?
